CIDAN folding machine MEGAPRO
The CIDAN MEGAPRO folding machine is a powerful and robust folder, making it possible to bend perfect parts in 6 mm steel and 4 mm stainless steel (with a working length of 3.1 m). The beams and side plates easily absorb the large bending forces. Despite MEGAPRO’s strong construction, its use and programming are very smooth and user-friendly.

MEGAPRO can be equipped with a straight rail that can be used for full length parts or profiles.

MEGAPRO can be equipped with high divided box tooling in two different heights, 102 or 152mm.

Upper beam: Eccentric drive
The eccentric driven clamping system (no spindles) eliminates wear and tear during movement which insures long life of the drive.
The eccentric clamping provides high clamping pressure for closing hems.
High opening and closing speed and adjustable opening heights.
Clamping force for sensitive materials is adjustable in the control.

Folding beam
The folding beam is driven by two 4,0kW motors and includes also automatic crowning system.
The folding beam is designed to handle the force for all different materials and lengths.
Automatic folding center adjustment
The CNC controlled folding center adjustment ensures that the correct radius is set for the different materials and thickness.

Automatic material thickness adjustment
Tool depth of the folding beam is controlled by the software.
Depending on the different material thickness, the control adjust the folding beam height accordingly (max 80mm).
In addition, bending up-side-down hems and small offset bends is a very simple and fast process.

Automatic crowning of folding tools
Crowning of folding beam is controlled by the software. The software supports different material tables in the same program, so the correct settings can be used for both long sides and short sides.

Folding beam tooling
Folding beam tools are available in several widths from 20 mm up to 60 mm.
All folding tools are segmented from 45 mm up to 200 mm in length.
With a free space of 76 mm to the tool seat, most flanges with different bend lines can be achieved.

Lower beam
MEGAPRO is as standard equipped with Multifold, with divided lower beam tools.
Lower beam tooling
All lower tools are segmented from 45mm up to 200mm in width.
Divided lower beam tools in combination with a height adjustable backgauge gives full flexibility forming parts.
The lower tools have a free space of 50mm.
The divided lower beam tools are clamped in position (no screws) and can easily be moved or changed by hand.

Free space on the sides
MEGAPRO offers large recesses in the sides, 120 mm high and 57 mm wide, allowing greater flexibility.

Tooling
MEGAPRO can be equipped with straight rail or high divided box tooling in two different heights, 102 or 152mm.
With high divided tools you gain more free space and can fold boxes with high precision.

With high divided tools you gain more free space and can fold boxes with high precision.
All high divided tools are segmented from 45mm up to 200mm in width. The set of tools includes fixed corner tools, left and right.
When a MEGAPRO is equipped with two different tool heights for the upper beam, a security key switch for the safety stop is added.


Upper tool combinations
Tools can be offered in different nose radius.
Combinations available:
If only one tool height is required, select between Straight rail, 102mm or 152mm.
If two different tool heights are required:
Straight rail and 102mm HDT
or
102mm HDT and 152mm HDT
The lowest tool height has the highest clamping power.

Pneumatic tool locking
Automatic tool locking, all tooling in upper- and folding beam are pneumatically locked.

Straight rail (sharp tool)
MEGAPRO can be equipped with a straight rail that can be used for full length parts or profiles.
The straight rail is divided in 5 segments, allowing quick and easy changing and lowering replacement costs in the event of damage.
Advantage: you can use the 55° upper beam shape.

All folding tools are segmented from 45 mm up to 200 mm in length.
With a free space of 76 mm to the tool seat, most flanges with different bend lines can be achieved.

Tooling quality and radius
Choose from two options regarding tool quality:

Backgauge
The SBG (Standard BackGauge) backgauge is a rigid construction and is driven with a servomotor, ballscrew and linear guides for highest precision and repeatability.
SBG back gauge
The SBG (Standard BackGauge) backgauge is a rigid construction and is driven with a servomotor, ballscrew and linear guides for highest precision and repeatability. The backgauge speed enables the productivity to increase and at the same time, decreases the costs of your forming operation. The base unit is U-shaped with a depth of 1550mm at the sides and 1300mm in the middle. The cutout in the middle gives the advantage to reach closer to the bend line. It is also wide – for maximum workability of the machine. An easy setting in the control and the table is completely flat and the sheet can be rotated easily.
For large applications like panels, doors and cabinets, we recommend a J-shaped or U-shaped backgauge.
Even 3 and 4 m parts can easily be handled by one operator.

Height adjustable back gauge as standard
Height adjustable backgauge (0-50mm) gives you full flexibility forming parts.
- Embossings in parts can be compensated.
- Bending complicated profiles from the folding beam side.
The table can move down to 50mm below the clamping surface.

Fingers in the first row
Extra high solid steel fingers, 25mm high, in the front row of the backgauge.
Smallest gauging position is 5,5mm.

Several rows of gauging stops
With several rows of 25mm high solid finger positions with ”stops” at every 500 mm, any position on the backgauge can be reached in 2 seconds, speeding up the process between bends.

Side stop/ squaring arm (option)
A squaring arm left and/ or right at the backgauge table gives the advantage of fast and rigid positioning of the sheet to match up with the tool setup. It can also support narrow sheets that only engages one backgauge finger.

ProLink CNC control system
The MEGAPRO includes the ProLink control system and a 18.5” touchscreen.
The ProLink software is developed for CIDAN folders by CIDAN.
The Windows based control is easy and fast to learn and to operate.

Control system ProLink
The control is easy and fast to learn, navigation guides the operator through the programming procedure.
Interactive graphic pictures are shown to the operator with instructions like rotate or flip the part, a condition to correctly being able to produce complicated details.
Every bend line is shown with the selected tooling and its bending situation.
Collisions will be indicated- and the operator decides whether the part should be produced.
The folding settings is based on material data tables and calculates the bending allowance
In the CNC control you can store a large amount of programs.
Every program can be saved with a graphical icon and name and can be easily found in the library again.

ProLink offline (option)
With the offline-software you will be able to program the parts in the office. Store the bending programs in a network folder. Load the programs at the machine from the folder into the control. Keep the running time of the machine high – program offline.

The MEGAPRO is equipped with several safety functions as standard.
For increased safety we offer different safety options depending on how the machine will be operated.

Laser scanner (option)
When operating the machine from the folding beam side, the floor laser scanner protects the operator from the folding beam movement.
When operating the machine from the backgauge side, the laser scanner protects the folding area.
Extended Floor laser scanner area when folding.
Floor area is set to 1.2 meter from the folding line.


Folding beam auto stop (option)
On the outer edge of the folding beam a rubber with built in optical sensor is mounted. In the event of a collision with an operator, the machine stops immediately.
