Flexibility, precision and ergonomics
The design of the bending beam allows for easy bending in both directions. The rotation of the Combi beam between two tool sets and the unique geometry provides you with unmatched working space. The tool locking is automatic for quick tool change and fast setup time. This, combined with full segmentation of the tools in upper-, lower and the folding beam gives you the maximum possibility to form your parts.
Servo electric drives guarantee the maximum precision in positioning and bending. In combination with our CNC-controlled crowning system we are able to bend different material and thickness at it´s best.
The backgauge configuration is completely flexible (J, L, U – shape) according to the production needs.
Streamline and optimize your work
Together with the vacuum grippers, which automatically position your material, your work is significantly streamlined and optimized. The large number of vacuum grippers with many suction cups hold the workpiece anywhere on the backgauge. Positioning each bending line is automatic, the operator only needs to rotate the sheets.
In combination with having multiple tool stations you boost production with the best flexibility, precision, safety, and ergonomics – with or without a robot.

Up/Down bending
The FORMA Z double folder is primarily designed for bending complex parts that require demanding handling. The machine bends in both direction, no need to flip the material during production.
Automatic folding center adjustment
The CNC controlled folding center adjustment ensures that the correct radius is set for the different materials and thicknesses.
It also enables advanced folding techniques.
Automatic material thickness adjustment and detour position
Material thickness adjustment is controlled by the software.
Detour position up to 150mm makes it possible to go around flanges when switching between positive and negative bends.
Folding beam auto tool detection
To prevent damage on tooling and machine, our
automatic folding beam tool detection checks if the correct tool width is used according to the bending program in the CNC control.
The only Up/Down machine with this feature on the market.
Upper beam: To
different shapes
FORMA Z is available with two different upper beam shapes:
- Rotating combi beam
- Straight upper beam
Upper beam
The combi beam offers flexibility like no other tooling system, you can switch between the straight rail and high divided tooling in a matter of seconds.
The combi beam increases the flexibility for different shapes of profiles. This gives the ability to form a larger variety of parts without tool changing.
The straight form of the upper beam offers maximum free space in front and at the rear side of the upper beam tooling. Perfect for bending cassettes from the front or rear side of the FORMA Z.
Upper beam: Eccentric drive
The eccentric driven clamping system eliminates wear and tear during movement which insures long life of the drive.
The dual motor eccentric clamping provides high
clamping pressure for closing hems.
High opening and closing speed and adjustable opening heights.
Clamping force for sensitive materials is adjustable in the control.
Auto lubrication
FORMA Z is equipped with a automated lubrication system. Guideways, drives and folding axis gets the correct amount of lubrication according to the workload of the machine.
It is fully operated by the CNC control.
Folding beam
The folding beam is dual driven by two 4kW motors and is very rigid and stable.
Front stop function
The folding beam can be used as a front gauge up to 148mm and enables to use the same program for different blank sizes.
Automatic Folding center adjustment
The CNC controlled folding center adjustment ensures that the correct radius is set for the different materials and thicknesses.
It also enables advanced folding techniques.
Automatic material thickness adjustment and detour position
Material thickness adjustment is controlled by the software.
Detour position up to 150mm makes it possible to go around flanges when switching between positive and negative bends.
Automatic crowning of folding tools
Crowning of folding beam is controlled by the software. The software supports different material tables in the same program, so the correct settings can be used for both long sides and short sides.

High divided tooling
The high divided box tooling has a free space of 203 mm in height. With high divided tools you gain more free space and can fold boxes with very fine measurement.
All high divided tools are segmented from 35mm up to 200mm in width.
Collapsable corner tools (Option)
Collapsable corner tools enables full automation when folding four sided parts like doors, claddings and panels. The tools will automatically flip when the upper beam moves upwards out of the box.
Sold in pairs of right and left.
Straight rail (sharp tool)
The combi upper beam is equipped with a straight rail that can be used for full length parts or profiles.
Advantage: you can use the 45° upper beam shape
The straight rail is divided in segments of 800mm or 900mm allowing quick and easy changing and lowering replacement costs in the event of damage.
Folding beam tooling
Folding beam tools are available in several widths from 8 mm up to 25 mm. All folding tools are segmented from 35mm up to 200mm in length.
With a free space of 78mm to the tool seat, the most flanges with different bend lines can be done.
Lower beam tooling
All lower tools (50mm high) are segmented from 35mm up to 200mm in width.
Divided lower beam tools in combination with a height adjustable backgauge gives full flexibility forming parts.
Tooling quality and radius
Choose from three options regarding tool quality:

Premium – Toolox steel
All upper- and lower beam tools can be provided with a sharp edge (S1) and also in different radius (f.g R1 or R2).
Backgauge
The AGS backgauge is a rigid construction and is driven with a servomotor, ballscrew and linear guides for highest precision and repeatability. The backgauge speed enables the productivity to increase and at the same time, decreases the costs of your forming operation.
AGS backgauge
The base unit is U-shaped with a depth of 1550mm at the sides and 1050mm in the middle. The deep cutout in the middle gives the advantage to reach closer to the bend line. It is also wide – for maximum workability of the machine.
When using vacuum grippers, the table is completely flat and the sheet can be rotated easily.
Design your own backgauge according to your needs with different modules.
You can add side extensions left and/ or right according to the
working length of the machine.
For large applications like panels, doors and cabinets, we
recommend a J-shaped or U-shaped backgauge.
Even 3 and 4 m parts can easily be handled by one operator.
Vacuum grippers
Makes it possible to run fully automated folding
sequences.
Divided into groups makes it possible to prepare next sheet on the table while the actual part is made.
The large amount of suctions cups prevents the sheet from slipping during the automated folding sequence.
Height adjustable back gauge (option)
Height adjustable backgauge (0-50mm) gives you full flexibility forming parts.
- Embossings in parts can be compensated.
- Bending complicated profiles from the folding beam side
Ball casters or brush tables (option)
In the standard execution the FORMA Z the backstop tables are equipped with steel ball casters.
Sensitive surface or prepainted material without plastic foil protection might require a brush table (option) instead of the ball caster solution. Smooth to the surface, simple to clean.
ProLink CNC control system
The FORMA Z includes the ProLink control system and a 21.5” touchscreen.
The ProLink software is developed for CIDAN folders by CIDAN.
The Windows based control is easy and fast to learn and to operate.
Control system ProLink
The control is easy and fast to learn, navigation guides the operator through the programming procedure.
Interactive graphic pictures are shown to the operator with instructions like rotate or flip the part, a condition to correctly being able to produce complicated details.
Every bend line is shown with the selected tooling and its bending situation.
Collisions will be indicated- and the operator decides whether the part should be produced.
The folding settings is based on material data tables and calculates the bending allowance
In the CNC control you can store a large amount of programs.
Every program can be saved with a graphical icon and name and can be easily found in the library again.
ProLink offline (option)
With the offline-software you will be able to program the parts in the office.
Store the bending programs in a network folder.
Load the programs at the machine from the folder into the control.
Keep the running time of the machine high – program offline.
Maximum safety
No limitation for operation. The FORMA Z is equipped with several safety functions as standard.
For increased safety we offer different safety solutions depending on how the machine will be operated.
Safety: protection at the rear side
Safety light curtain on the rear side protects the operator from the automatic movements of the upper beam.
Side covers prevent being able to step next to the
bending line.
3x Emergency STOP buttons at the rear side of the machine.
2x foot pedal Emergency switches.
Safety: protection at the front side
When operating the machine from the backgauge side, the laser scanner protects the folding area.
Extended floor laser scanner area when folding Up & Down with maximum speed.
Floor area is set to 1.2 meter from the folding line.
Safety: working at the folding beam side
Safety light curtain protects the operator from the upper beam movements and its rotation.
The floor laser scanner protects the operator from the folding beam movement.
When working from the folding beam side, only up (positive) folding is allowed.
Reduced folding beam speed.
Upper beam safety stop at 6mm.
Reduced speed of the upper beam if the light curtain is interrupted.
Three emergency STOP buttons available at the front side.
