CIDAN Puerto Rico

Almost two years after Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, there are still thousands of families living under blue tarps.

In an effort to make a positive impact for these affected families, CIDAN Machinery partnered with the Giselle Marie Foundation, based in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, in their free roof program. The program is called ‘Operation Re-Roof Puerto Rico.’ Its mission is to rebuild homes and assist families devastated by Hurricane Maria. CIDAN Machinery is one of nine major sponsors.

Our team at CIDAN donated three sheet metal machines to replace roofs around the island. We sent one of our team members, Oscar Torres, to install the machines and train their new operators.

Oscar arrived on Tuesday, June 25th, in Puerto Rico to welcoming faces. By Friday, the machines were online and their team was ready and feeling comfortable in using the equipment.

A letter on behalf of the foundation stated:

“I wanted to take a few minutes to say THANK YOU on behalf of the Giselle Marie Foundation, Inc.(http://www.gisellemariefoundation.com/) Your technician Oscar Torres was amazing. Oscar is a top notch professional. By Friday afternoon not only we had all three machines online but the entire staff in Jayuya, Puerto Rico was ready and feeling comfortable in using the equipment.

Thank you so much, many poor families in Jayuya will benefit from our free roof program and your machines will be instrumental in delivering that mission.

We are forever grateful. Have a great week!”

A local news channel picked up the story. You can watch the video here. Our team at CIDAN is pleased to have made a difference.
