Higher output opens doors in Korea.

Solid Door
The door and window manufacturer Solid Door in the city Gyeonggi-do Gwang-Ju was established in 1993 with rapid growth over the following years, due in part to collaboration with the leading Japanese window and door manufacturer TOSTEM. Today Solid Door operates mainly in the Korean market.

Tired operators and high operator costs.
Solid Door was using press brakes for all forming but were experiencing problems with tired operators as well as high operator costs, with many operators per machine. When the owner of Solid Door, Mr Seung-il Kim, began to look for a new machine he wanted to address these issues. After a discussion with Mr Aden Park, salesperson at Toin International, CIDAN Machinery´s dealer in Korea, Solid Door chose CIDAN FORMA 30.

Fewer operators and higher output.
The height adjustable backgauge, the Combi beam and the hemming capacity were all major reasons for choosing FORMA.

– The problems we previously had, high operator costs and tired operators, were solved, says Mr Kim, and continues, We were so used to press brakes so we had a long learning curve. Now when we use the FORMA for new door designs the drawings must be suitable for folding, not press braking. Another thing we experienced was that the folding machine is sometimes slower than the press brakes, but as folding of large parts requires fewer operators, the output per operator is often higher.
